Toy Geek is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

We do not sell personal data. We disclose personal data to service providers strictly to deliver the Services, under contracts that require them to protect the data and use it only on our instructions.

Payments and Required Provider Statements

Card entry fields are provided directly by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Toy Geek does not collect, store, transmit, or log full card numbers or CVV. Card details go directly from your device to the payment processor using tokenization.

Clarifications for consistency with this Privacy Policy

We do not sell personal data. We may disclose personal data to contracted service providers so we can deliver the Services, for example payment processing, shipping, analytics, and advertising, under confidentiality and data protection obligations. We may store and process certain non-card personal data such as account details, order information, and customer communications as needed to operate the store, perform a contract with you, and meet legal obligations.

Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve the Services for you. Information you submit to the Services will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify as well as third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside, in order to provide and improve the Services for you. In addition, we may use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data and information obtained from your interactions with our store, along with other merchants and with Shopify. For certain activities Shopify may act as an independent controller and will be responsible for responding to requests to exercise your rights for those activities. Third-Party Websites and Links

The Services may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security policies and other terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on those sites.

Children’s Data

Our Services are not directed to children. If you are located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), you must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete that information and close any related account.

Parents/guardians: If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact contact@toygeek.ae and include enough detail for us to locate the data (for example, the child’s name, the email or phone used, and any order number). We will verify your identity/authority and respond in accordance with applicable law.

If we ever need to process a child’s personal information (for example, in connection with a contest), we will obtain verifiable guardian consent first, limit the data to what is necessary, and will not use such data for direct marketing or advertising profiling.

We do not sell or share (for targeted advertising) personal information of anyone we know to be under 18.

Security and Retention of Your Information

We take appropriate steps to ensure data privacy and security. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and we cannot guarantee perfect security. Any information you send to us may not be secure while in transit.

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. Typical retention periods include: orders and invoices 7 years to meet accounting and tax obligations, account data while your account remains active, and marketing data until you opt out or for up to 24 months after your last interaction, then we delete or anonymize it. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to prejudice your privacy or confidentiality, we will notify the UAE Data Office in accordance with UAE law and, where required, notify you and explain measures taken.
